Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and writer. Sara Ramirez was raised with her American mother. She faced a lot racial taunts and made her feel unwelcome. The confidence started to build at the age of nineteen after she took part in a school audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. The experience not only increased her confidence, but it was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from Julliard School in New York. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail were both major break. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred when she played The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater recognition. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she has released two solo albums and an extended piece. She's also an activist who is a tireless advocate for LGBT rights.
